Animating Controls with the Visual State Manager
The Visual State Manager (VSM) is a feature within Blend that allows a style to define simple behavior of a control, such as how the control behaves when the mouse hovers over it. Note that this behavior is related to appearance only, and doesn’t include complex logic that executes code.
Overview of the Visual State Manager
Controls in Blend have several visual states that can be set by the creator of the control. For example, a Button control defines the following states:
We can define animations for each of these states using a VisualState element. For example, suppose we want to show a rectangle element only when the user hovers the mouse over our control. We can place a StoryBoard animation within the MouseOver VisualState which animates the Opacity of the rectangle element.
In this module you will define the visual states for the appearance of a honeycomb when the ball collides with it.
